BREAKING NEWS: D.A. Office executes search warrant on Krabloonik in Snowmass

The 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office served a search warrant Thursday on the Krabloonik in Snowmass, where it collected a number of items — including eight dogs — as part of its investigation into the dogsledding operation.

“A full inspection of the dogs was carried out,” said a press released issued Friday morning by District Attorney Sherry Caloia.

Joining investigators from the District Attorney’s Office were members of the state’s agriculture department, which oversees the State Bureau of Animal Protection, and two veterinarians.

The D.A.’s investigation comes after recent allegations from residents and former mushers that the sled-dogs have been consistently abused over the years.
