On June 28, Chelsea VanVleet and Chace Dillon, of Aspen, were married in upstate New York, surrounded by 180 of their closest friends and relatives.
The pair first met in Aspen through mutual friends. After they dated for 41/2 years, Chace popped the question one memorable ski day at the top of Lift 1A, followed by a celebratory breakfast at Bonnie’s.
They chose to tie the knot in New York where Chelsea grew up spending her summers on Lake George. Chelsea works as an event planner and recently started a new company called Gold Leaf Event Design & Production. Chace works at UBS as a private wealth manager.
Given the bride’s love for event planning, she thought of every special detail from antique postcards from the Adirondacks for the “save the dates” to a fireworks display over Lake George on the night of the wedding.
For the wedding weekend, guests stayed in cabins around the lake with around 50 friends who traveled from Aspen for the festivities. The rehearsal dinner began with a boat ride to an Adirondack mansion, where all gathered for a casual dinner. The next day, the couple’s close friend Jeff Allinson served as the officiant for the ceremony, with Chace and Chelsea exchanging vows they each had written. Afterward, guests enjoyed a farm-to-table dinner under a tent styled in a rustic/elegant manner and danced the night away to the tunes of the talented Bobby Yang and his Unrivaled Players.
This fall, the couple traveled to Bali and Lombok, Indonesia, for a honeymoon in the tropics.
