Politics

AG candidate in Aspen on Friday

Don Quick, Democratic candidate for Colorado attorney general, will have a meet-and-greet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at The Cantina in Aspen.

“This is a great opportunity to introduce myself to voters where they live, but also to learn more about the issues facing their communities on the Western Slope,” he said in a statement.

Earlier this week Quick, a former Adams County district attorney, told the Denver Post he has mailed his candidate paperwork to the state’s secretary of state office.

Republican Attorney General John Suthers is term limited and won’t be running in 2014.

Holiday Happenings

Toy Drive underway

The Shining Stars Foundation’s annual Toy Drive is underway through Dec. 19.

Shining Stars provides aid to children afflicted with cancer. Gifts donated to the drive will go to the cancer-stricken and their siblings.

Hyman Ave., Aspen), Heather’s Restaurant in Basalt, US Bank in Aspen, US Bank in El Jebel, and US Bank in Glenwood at both Grand Avenue locations.
