Aspen Business Luncheon to focus on mental health

“Mental Health and Your Body” will be the topic of Wednesday’s Aspen Business Luncheon, which starts at 12:30 p.m. at the Hotel Jerome.

Drs. Martin Manosevitz, Alan Nelson and Julie Anthony are the scheduled presenters. Manosevitz has a family practice in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis and is past president of the Colorado Psychological Association. Nelson is a psychiatrist in private practice and has served on the advisory board to the U.S. surgeon general. Anthony has a private practice in clinical and sports psychology and was a founder of the Aspen Club’s Fitness and Sports Medicine Institute.

Patricia Varley to speak at women’s luncheon Thursday




Patricia Varley, a speaker and retreat facilitator, will speak at the Aspen Women to Women luncheon Thursday at BB’s Kitchen.

The event starts at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $35, which includes gratuity. Cash is preferred, but checks are acceptable. Capacity is limited; the organization suggests sending an RSVP by email to aspenwomentowomen@gmail.com.

Varley is expected to address the topic of “Women and Self-Leadership.” Her presentation will focus on what it means for women in business and in life to master themselves first and enhance their greatness so as to empower and positively influence others and their community effectively, according to event organizers.

Volunteers needed for bicycle race next month

The USA Pro Challenge, a bike race that will have a presence in the Aspen-Snowmass area Aug. 19 and 20, needs volunteers.

Sixteen teams of professional cyclists will participate in the seven-stage race. Volunteers are needed from Aug. 14 to Aug. 20 for a variety of positions, including racecourse marshals, hospitality, ambassadors, Green Team and more.

All volunteers will receive a commemorative T-shirt, information and the opportunity to share what Aspen-Snowmass has to offer visitors.
