Mountain Mayhem: Summer fun

Chef Matt O'Neill working the grill at the Last Man Standing party at Molly Gibson Park.

With more than 30 parks and playgrounds in Aspen available to enjoy everything from picnics and playing to barbecues and reunions, summer is all about being outdoors and gathering with family and friends. Among the fun happenings thus far in the parks and around town have been birthday parties by the river in Herron Park. A post-Food & Wine fiesta took place at Molly Gibson Park with food and beverage staff celebrating the weekend’s success. And Lemonade Day on June 27 saw pop-up stands at the parks and on street corners, giving kids a chance to plan and run their own business for the day. The nationwide program is held each year in over 35 participating cities across the country with the local chapter run through the Buddy Program. Foodstuff: International Flair

As we slowly but surely emerge from cozy cooking weather, I like to get in a few elaborate comfort meals that take all day and are worth the effort. One of these is my annual Indian Feast, which I only do once a year because I remember what a process it is.
