Basalt Fire Department calls

Editor’s note: Following are the fire and medical calls that Basalt Fire Department received Aug. 17 through 23.

Aug. 17 at 11:52 a.m. — An ambulance was called to the Rio Grande Trail for a woman injured in a bicycle crash. She was transported to the hospital for further care.

Aug. 18 at 8:38 a.m. — Firefighters were called to a site along the Fryingpan River for a report of smoke. The smoke turned out to be dust kicked up by a helicopter working in the area.

Aug. 18 at 4:26 p.m. — An ambulance was called to Highway 82 in the area of the Roaring Fork Club for a woman experiencing difficulty breathing. She was assessed on the scene and released.

Aug. 18 at 5:55 p.m. — Firefighters were called to Highway 82 in the midvalley for a report of smoke. No fire was found.

Aug. 19 at 8:43 p.m. — Firefighters were called to downtown Basalt for a gas smell. No gas leak was found.

Aug. 20 at 1:21 a.m. — An ambulance was called to a Basalt bus stop for a woman with injuries from a fall. She was assessed on the scene and released.

Aug. 21 at 8:35 p.m. — Firefighters were called to Pine Ridge Road for a carbon monoxide detector. The alarm was found to be false.

Aug. 22 at 12:32 p.m. — An ambulance was called to Old Snowmass for a woman in emotional distress. She was assessed on the scene and released.

Aug. 22 at 10:42 p.m. — An ambulance was called to Highway 82 in the midvalley for a unconscious woman. She was assessed on the scene and released.

Aug. 23 at 2:40 a.m. — An ambulance was called to the Roaring Fork Club for a man with stroke-like symptoms. He was transported to the hospital for further care.

Aug. 23 at 4:56 p.m. — Ambulances were called to Highway 82 and Emma Road for two patients after a car collided head-on with a motorcycle. The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the car was transported to the hospital for further care.

Aug. 23 at 9:15 p.m. — An ambulance was called to assist the Carbondale Fire Department at a two-car crash with multiple injuries near mile maker 55 on Highway 133.
