Aspen woman reported missing

Searchers were looking for a 57-year-old Aspen woman who was reported missing Monday northeast of Thomasville, according to the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities were told that Dorothy L. Jenkins left a campsite in the Burnt Mountain area around 2 p.m. Sunday and didn’t return, according to a Sheriff’s Office statement released Friday. A companion told the Sheriff’s Office that Jenkins had no hiking or camping equipment with her when she left the campsite, the statement said.

Searchers reported finding no signs of Jenkins in the area. Her companion said she had been dressed in a maroon tank top and khaki or light-colored shorts, the statement said.
