Basalt Fire Departments calls

The following are the fire and medical calls that the Basalt Fire Department responded to from Aug. 10 through Saturday.

Aug. 10 at 12:19 p.m. — An ambulance was called to Catherine Store for a man with possible injuries from a two-car crash. He was assessed on the scene and released to law enforcement.

Aug. 11 at 3:18 p.m. — An ambulance was called to downtown Basalt for a sick woman. She was transported to the hospital for further care.

Aug. 11 at 4:19 p.m. — Basalt firefighters were called to downtown Basalt for a manually pulled alarm in a parking garage. The alarm was accidentally triggered by water and found to be false.

Aug. 11 at 5:02 p.m. — Basalt firefighters were called to Ruedi Reservoir to assist a group of people stranded on an island. Responders used a boat to get the group back to shore.

Aug. 11 at 9:24 p.m. — Basalt firefighters were called to Blue Lake for a report of thick smoke. The source was a legal fire pit and no assistance was required.

Aug. 12 at 7:51 a.m. — An ambulance was called for a multi-vehicle crash on a midvalley road. There were no injuries or hazards.

Aug. 12 at 12:05 p.m. — An ambulance was called to Rio Grande Trail for a man with potential head injuries from a bicycle crash. He was transported to the hospital for further care.

Aug. 13 at 6:48 a.m. — Basalt firefighters were called to Old Snowmass for a one-vehicle rollover. Nobody was found at the vehicle and no hazards were found.

Aug. 13 at 10:57 a.m. — Basalt firefighters were called for a potential hazard from a sparking power line. The power company responded and didn’t need assistance.

Aug. 13 at 7:32 p.m. — Basalt firefighters were called to Sunlight Drive for a report of smoke. A contained bonfire was found, and no assistance was needed.

Aug. 14 at 1:07 p.m. — Basalt firefighters were called to School Street for a fire alarm. It was found to be false.

Aug. 14 at 9:50 p.m. — An ambulance was called to Wild Spring Lane for a report of a man with chest pains. He was transported to the hospital for further care.

Aug. 15 at 1:52 p.m. — An ambulance was called to Basalt for a sick woman. She was transported to the hospital for further care.

Aug. 15 at 2:52 p.m. — An ambulance was called to the Arbaney Ranch area for an unresponsive man. He was transported to the hospital for further care.

Saturday at 12:32 a.m. — An ambulance was called to Willits for a woman with possible injuries suffered in a fall. She was transported to the hospital for further care.

Saturday at 1:57 a.m. — The Basalt Fire Department’s hazardous-materials team was called to the Arbaney Ranch area for a vehicle leaking fluids. Responders contained the fluids and cleared the scene.

Saturday at 12:40 p.m. — Basalt firefighters were called to Cody Lane for a vehicle fire. They extinguished the fire.
