ACES Raptor Fair is Thursday in Aspen

Aspen Center for Environmental Studies will host its second annual Raptor Fair from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

The all-ages event will take place at the Hallam Lake nature preserve and is free and open to the public. The Raptor Fair will include ACES’ resident birds of prey (the golden eagle, red-tailed hawk, and great horned owl), as well as visiting birds of prey (a screech owl, a Harris’s hawk, a turkey vulture, a gyrfalcon and a prairie falcon) from Nature’s Educators, a raptor education organization from Denver.

Families will have the opportunity to visit with and learn about these incredible birds up close, as well as participate in raptor-themed science activities, arts and crafts, and more. RSVP and more information at http://www.aspennature.org/learn/events/raptor-fair-2014.
