Snowmass council cancels June 2 meeting, still on for today
The Snowmass Village Town Council meeting scheduled for June 2 has been canceled because not enough council members will be in attendance.
However, a joint meeting with the Planning Commission set to discuss future plans for Base Village is still set for 4 p.m. today.
Today’s meeting is the second in a series of pre-sketch plan discussions for the stalled development. The meetings are open to the public, and the first one drew a packed house of various residents and stakeholders.
After a brief introduction from meeting facilitator Tom Newland, attendees today will join council, Planning Commission and town staff members and representatives from Related Colorado, which owns Base Village through subsidiary Snowmass Acquisition Co., at four round tables. Each table will discuss a specific topic related to the development for approximately 10 minutes. After rotating through all four tables, key discussion points will be shared with the group in an hourlong reporting session. Due to the limited amount of time for each topic, participants are encouraged to share “bullet points” or snippets of what is most important for a successful Base Village to proceed.
The discussion topics will be:
• Residential/commercial mix revisions
• Project phasing/vesting
• Community purposes and aquatic center
In addition to these topics, participants will have the opportunity — both in person and virtually — to weigh in on other aspects of the development. Those who cannot make the meetings in person but wish to weigh in can do so by visiting www.tosv.com/communityvoice or by commenting on Twitter using the hashtag #BaseVillage2.0.
Road improvements to impact traffic in Snowmass
From June 2 through 13, weather permitting, a contractor will perform an asphalt overlay project on Snowmass Village roads.
Impacted roadways include:
• Brush Creek Road (Wood Road to Snowmelt Road)
• Lot 11
• Fall Lane
• Sinclair Road (from Brush Creek Road to a point to be determined)
The Snowmass Village Road Division has been preparing the surface. The contractor will start the overlay in Lot 11 and Fall Lane, then proceed to Brush Creek Road and finish with Sinclair Road.
Drivers should expect minor traffic delays with single-lane access.
