U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Acting Assistant Administrator Nancy Stoner will meet with local business leaders, elected officials and residents from 10 a.m. to noon today at the Basalt/El Jebel Fire Department. The gathering will be hosted by the Roaring Fork Conservancy.
The meeting will focus on the details of a proposed Clean Water Act rule that will focus on the protection of headwaters, wetlands, seasonal and rain-dependent streams throughout Colorado, including Eagle and Pitkin counties.
Additionally, Stoner will meet with the Roaring Fork Conservancy to visit several local watershed projects along the Fryingpan River this week.
