Aspen resident Shereen Sarick will give the presentation, “Our Classrooms Never Had Windows: A Mother and Son Global Adventure,” at 7 p.m. tonight at the Aspen Chapel gallery.
Sarick is the mother of Jack Sarick, who left Aspen in September 2012 for seven months of volunteering, instead of attending eighth grade, throughout the world. His mother joined him, and they were put to the test on many occasions.
“Lessons came from when we were most uncomfortable, but that’s how it often goes,” the mother and son said in a joint statement.
Shereen Sarick’s presentation will provide an account of their journey, what they were able to give and what they were able to take away from the experiences. Their favorite snacks from around the world will be served.
