Aspen Film, the beloved film, arts and education organization, hosted Aspen Shortsfest from April 8 to 13 at The Wheeler Opera House in Aspen and at The Crystal Theater in Carbondale. Vying to be included in the fiercely competitive selection process, more than 3,000 submissions from around the world were considered for the festival. Eventually, 70 short films were chosen, and over a third of them were premieres.

Shortsfest is known for bringing filmmakers together with the cinema-loving public for nearly a week of screenings, panel discussions, education programs and informal networking. It’s also widely recognized as a premier North American showcase for short films.

Cast members, crew investors and friends took part in the annual gathering that lasted six film-filled days. An awards ceremony was held on closing night at Rustique Restaurant, celebrating the winners who are all listed by category on the organization’s website,
