Final Easter service set for Aspen's Messiah Lutheran Church

Messiah Lutheran Church (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod), located at 1235 Mountain View Drive, will celebrate its final Easter worship service in Aspen on Sunday.

Messiah, which has been serving the Aspen community since 1956, is merging with Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Glenwood Springs, and forming a new mission congregation, called Faith Lutheran Church, in the midvalley.

Holy Week services at Messiah are as follows:

Thursday, 7 p.m. — Maundy Thursday service

Friday, 8 p.m. — Good Friday service

Easter Sunday service — 9 a.m. with brunch to follow

From April 28 through the end of May, Faith Lutheran Church will worship in Glenwood Springs at 62 County Road 135, the corner of 135 and Highway 6, which is the current location of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Beginning June 1, Faith Lutheran Church will begin holding services in temporary worship facilities in Carbondale. For more information, call or email Pastor Tom Thierfelder at 970-925-7725, or
