In seventh heaven at Cloud Nine

From the exterior, the unassuming cabin perched a little more than halfway up Aspen Highlands could be perceived as an intimate dining venue for a casual, sit-down lunch. But for those in the know, Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro is an experience unto itself with European fare, fine wine and legendary dance parties.

Overseen by chef de cuisine Michael Johnston, the menu appeals to tourists and locals alike, with its gruyere fondue; raclette served with cornichons, potatoes and air-dried beef; veal schnitzel; black-truffle gnocchi; apple strudel and more. Managed by the wait staff, the iPod loaded with energetic playlists keeps the party going — at least until ski patrol arrives, kindly reminding all it’s time to schuss down the slopes.

Open daily for lunch, Thursday evenings for snowcat dinners and upon availability for private events, Cloud Nine is a must-see at least once on your ski trip or during the ski season. Reservations are required. Call 970-544-3063 for lunch or 970-923-8715 for dinner.
