Dear Editor:
The recent lawsuit over the entrance to Aspen brings out, once again, a lack of creative thinking. Here's a solution to West End traffic and the entrance:
1. Signs from First to Eighth streets on Main that say, "No thru traffic. Residents and visitors only. Violators pay $50 fine."
2. Put Cemetery Lane and the golf-course lights on blinkers from 3 to 7 p.m. Turning movements will work. Ask me.
3. Future adjustments: Use the bus lanes downvalley from 3 to 7 p.m. Save the S-curves entrance by widening the Castle Creek bridge to four lanes. Don't forget to reinforce the structure. There really should be, and can be, four lanes in and out of Aspen.
What's wrong with sharing the bus lanes?
