SNOWMASS VILLAGE - We attended the March 1 performance of "The Foreigner," which was part of the Snowmass Chapel Winter Concert Series and an astonishingly funny and brilliantly acted show.
The first adjective that came to our minds was "professional," but then realized we had seen several of the cast at Aspen's Crystal Palace and so needed to find other words to describe it. The best would be "people obviously having fun and sharing same with their audience," and fun it was. The wild card was the performance of Michael Schoepe as "The Foreigner," trying not to laugh as his role required a poker face for much of the show, but everyone played their respective roles so well, and had the audience captivated for the entire performance.
What amazing talent we have in this valley, but even more astonishing was the relatively small audience, about 30, considering the time the players must have devoted in rehearsal and preparation and for a donation (suggested) of only $15 per person.
Obviously if we want to have shows like this in our valley we need to muster up audiences of more than 30 so, come on Snowmass and Aspen, please support those in our community who give of their time and talent to produce a show worthy of Broadway.
