Dear Editor:

This has been a year of many challenges for Komen Aspen, serving western Colorado, and the year has shown that standing up for what you believe can change outcomes and reverse decisions on a national level.

We face greater need than ever before, and funding on the federal, state and local levels have all been cut to programs that help those most in need. We try to fill in the gap, but our funding is down, as well. You have a chance to help us and have an enjoyable day at the same time.

Ski for the Cure is happening again this year on Saturday on Aspen Mountain. The mountain will be a vision in pink. Even if you cannot come out and join us to ski, just come to the Sky Hotel at 2:30 p.m. for the party after skiing, or you also can be there in spirit.

It is a day to reflect on friends and family we have lost to breast cancer, but it is more important to remember the ones who can be saved with your help. No amount is too small; it all adds up a little at a time.
