Karl Burkheimer visiting Ranch this month

SNOWMASS VILLAGE - As part of the 2013 Visiting Artists lectures, Anderson Ranch Arts Center will host artist Karl Burkheimer. Burkheimer will conduct a talk and slide presentation of his work at Anderson Ranch Arts Center at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 15 in Schermer Meeting Hall. The talk is free and open to the public. It will be followed by dinner in the Ranch Cafe, $18 per person. Reservations are required by Jan. 12.

Burkheimer is also a visiting artist at Anderson Ranch, meeting with artists currently in the three-week January Immersive session through Jan. 25. While at Anderson Ranch, Burkheimer will work on-site for three weeks, producing a work in response to the environment and the Ranch community. The opening for this work is scheduled on Jan. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. This is part one of a two-part exhibition series that will involve dialog with gallery director Jenene Nagy and collaboration with artists John Lloyd, Jason Schneider and Josh Smith. The opening reception for the resulting collaborative work will be on March 5 from 5 - 7 p.m.
