BASALT - The following are the calls that the Basalt Fire Department responded to between Dec. 17 and Sunday.
Dec. 17 at 7:42 a.m.: Responded to East Fork Lane for a carbon monoxide alarm. The call was canceled.
Dec. 17 at 9:03 a.m.: Responded to Valley Road for an odor investigation. A grease tap was being pumped out.
Dec. 17 at 11:40 a.m.: Responded to Snowmass Creek for an alarm that was canceled while responding.
Dec. 17 at 5:29 p.m.: Responded to Blue Lake for a carbon monoxide alarm sounding.
Dec. 18 at 5:41 p.m.: Responded to Dakota Meadows for a person unconscious and not breathing. The patient was transferred to Carbondale ambulance and transported to the hospital.
Dec. 19 at 6:49 a.m.: Responded to an accident at mile 22 on Highway 82. Assisted with traffic control for the safety of law enforcement and a tow-truck driver.
Dec. 19 at 3:02 p.m.: Responded to Evans Court for a carbon monoxide alarm.
Dec. 19 at 4:49 p.m.: Checked on a carbon monoxide alarm at Juniper Trail Drive.
Dec. 19 at 10:19 p.m.: Responded to a smoke check on JW Drive. Steam was found rising in cold air.
Dec. 20 at 8:24 p.m.: Called to Lewis Lane for a medical call.
Friday at 6:34 a.m.: Responded to a chicken coop on fire on Sunset Lane. The owner contained the fire to the coop. All the chickens died. The building sustained extreme damage.
Friday at 7:33 a.m.: Responded to Columbine Court for a smoke-alarm malfunction.
Friday at 11:30 a.m.: Responded to Park Avenue for a medical problem. The patient refused transport.
Friday at 2:02 p.m.: Responded to Reed Street for a medical problem. The patient was transported to the hospital.
Friday at 4:49 p.m.: Responded to Gold Rivers Court for a fall on ice. The patient was transported to the hospital.
Friday at 9:31 p.m.: Responded to Spring Park Subdivision for CPR in progress. The patient could not be revived. The Eagle County coroner was notified.
Sunday at 3:37 p.m.: An ice dam broke in the Roaring Fork River. High water and moving ice were observed. Bridges were checked, but no damage was found.
Sunday at 4:45 p.m.: Responded to a medical call on Midland Avenue. No transport was necessary.
