Face lifts

SNOWMASS VILLAGE - Do you remember the Snowmass Ski Area, Fanny Hill in particular, in 1978? Do you remember riding the two-seater Fanny Hill lift and then over to the Burlingame lift? If you look today, there is still the lone Burlingame lift on the far side of Fanny Hill, but the Fanny Hill chairlift has had numerous face-lifts since 1978, the most recent being the "Skittles" gondola that follows the path of the original lift and the six-pack that replaced the need for the old Burlingame lift.

Editor's note: This page is a partnership between the Snowmass Sun and the Aspen Historical Society with two primary goals in mind: to improve the knowledge of Snowmass history in the region and to collect historic photographs of the Snowmass region for the society. If you have pieces of history to donate, please send them to archives@aspenhistory.org or call 970-925-3721.
