Sales up 18.6 percent in October

SNOWMASS VILLAGE - Sales tax revenue was up 18.6 percent in October from the same month the previous year, according to a report from the town Finance Department.

That puts total revenue for the year-to-date up 6.6 percent.

Restaurants saw a 53.3 percent rise, sports equipment 65.1 percent, food, drug and liquor stores 28.7 percent, general retail 42.1 percent, and miscellaneous 26.2 percent. Utilities revenue dropped by 4.2 percent and lodging by 1.4 percent.

Revenues in the Real Estate Transfer Tax fund dropped 67.6 percent from the same month in 2011.
