Friday night I went to see the ACT production of the 1992 remake of 1930 Gershwin's "Girl Crazy," now named "Crazy for You." It was a sheer delight.
After living in Aspen for more than 40 years, it still amazes me how lucky we are to have such talent in this valley. Why go to New York and pay more than $120 a ticket when for a little more then a movie ticket you can see a great show with an excellent cast. Beautiful sets, phenomenal choreography and the music of George and Ira Gershwin.
If that's not enough for you, there are more than a dozen long-legged, very pretty girls. I could not believe that the show was not sold out. We need to support local theater and their hard work to bring us the best.
Since it will still be playing next weekend and I had so much fun, I'm going again. Please come join me. After the show, you get to meet Rita, Jody and the cast.
