Decision 1908

SNOWMASS VILLAGE - In the spirit of election time, let's go back to the fall of 1908 elections. Here are the Aspen Daily Times comments on Thomas A. Rucker for county judge from Oct. 29. "Judge Thomas A. Rucker will be the successful candidate for county judge. He was nominated first by the Independent county convention, and later was indorsed by the Citizens and Bohunk Republicans. The office of county judge or any judicial position should be non-political. Judge Rucker should be on all the tickets, for he is by far the ablest attorney and the most competent man for a judicial position in this section of the country. He will most certainly be elected. He has a host of friends in all the political parties who will stand by him for anything he wants. Like all the other independent candidates, he is the best man for the place to which he aspires."
