Election 2012: What you need to know

SNOWMASS VILLAGE - Election Day is Nov. 6 this year, and ballot items include everything from the presidential race to a state amendment legalizing marijuana possession for adults to a Town Council race in Snowmass Village.

Precinct 6 voters, which include most Snowmass Village residents, can cast their ballots in person at Town Hall on Election Day. Polling places in Pitkin County will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Verify your precinct and polling place online at

Early voting at the Pitkin County Clerk and Recorder's Office continues through Nov. 2. All registered voters are eligible for early voting. Residents who wish to apply for a mail-in ballot can still pick one up at the Clerk's Office through Nov. 2. The office is on Main Street in Aspen and is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Absentee and mail-in voters who signed up to receive their ballots by mail but have not received them should contact the county Clerk's Office at 970-429-2713.
