Join staff from Roaring Fork Conservancy for a hike up Hunter Creek Trail viewing the fall colors and learning about the riparian habitat along the creek. The group will discuss how a complicated system of diversions to Front Range cities affects the creek's flow and some history of the area. The easy to moderate hike gains approximately 800 feet over a few miles.
Participants will meet at the lower Hunter Creek Trailhead off Lone Pine Road in Aspen at 4 p.m. on Oct. 4. The event is free. Registration is required at www.roaringfork.org/events. Call 970-927-1290 with questions.
Roaring Fork Conservancy is a watershed conservation organization in the Roaring Fork Valley.
