Anderson Ranch gearing up for annual auction

SNOWMASS VILLAGE - Anderson Ranch Arts Center's Annual Art Auction returns Aug. 11. The event is the center's largest fundraiser of the year, and hundreds of art enthusiasts come to the Anderson Ranch campus to bid on more than 250 pieces of art.

The pieces offered in both the silent and live auctions are a varied collection of art by international, national and local artists, including Enrique Martinez Celaya, Chris Gustin, Patrick Hughes, Scott Keating, Maloof Studios, Julian Opie and many Anderson Ranch artist guests.

The mediums represented include painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, furniture, photography, mixed-media, printmaking and woodwork. Similarly, artwork is available in a broad price range starting from $100 up to $60,000.

A picnic lunch (adults $15, kids 12 and under are free) will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The silent auction opens at 11:30 a.m. and the live auction begins at 2 p.m. All proceeds benefit the educational programs of Anderson Ranch Arts Center.

Artwork in the live and silent auctions can be previewed in advance on the day of the event at

2012auction,, as well as from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays leading up to the auction.

There will be a continuous free shuttle from Two Creeks Parking Lot to the campus.

Auction bidders can choose to participate in the live or silent auctions in person or by using an absentee bid form. Absentee bids can be submitted digitally until 5 p.m. on Aug. 10, via the 2012 Annual Art Auction website at
