Ghost Face Killah to set this year's Chili & Brew Fest ablaze

SNOWMASS VILLAGE - It began with Billy's Chilies -Twisted Pine Brewery of Boulder's crack at producing a light-bodied, wheat chili beer for those who wish to spice up their palates. But just like anything else that packs on the heat, the demand for more fire eventually hit the taproom, igniting an American-style wheat so spicy its producers feel confident in labeling it the "hottest beer this side of hell."Adopting its name from the rapper of Wu-Tang Clan and its infused "ghost" peppers, Ghost Face Killah introduces six different strains of chili peppers: Anaheim, Fresno, jalapeo, Serrano, habanero and bhut jolokia - the "ghost" pepper 200 times hotter than an average jalapeo. The result: an intense heat that presents itself immediately and persists more than a minute after the sip.So what happens when you combine what's been described as the "world's hottest beer" with a festival known for its fiery chilies and blazing Colorado sun? According to logistics manager Justin Tilotta, who will be handing out samples this weekend, "the more the merrier."
