Shapiro, Gleason join town boards

The Snowmass Town Council on Monday appointed two people to two different town boards. Shawn Gleason will now sit on the Financial Advisory Board; he replaces Howard Gross. Nancy Shapiro was chosen to fill a vacant seat on the Part-Time Residents Advisory Board; she replaces Victor Rauch.

"Nancy wanted to get actively involved in the community, and this seems like the perfect opportunity," said Mel Blumenthal, interim chairman of the Part-Time Residents Advisory Board, in support of Shapiro's appointment.

According to Shapiro's application for the post, she lives part-time in Snowmass Village in both summer and winter.

Gleason is a full-time Snowmass Village resident who has previously applied for the Financial Advisory Board.

"I've known Shawn for a period of time and he is awesome. He gets the job done," said Councilwoman Markey Butler, before approving his nomination at Monday's meeting. "He is very committed to this community."
