Dear Editor:
Pitkin County should not endorse the Wexner land exchange.
The county commissioners should adhere to two basic principles when asked to consider a proposal transferring ownership of public lands: no net loss of acreage and no loss of public access.
Dale Will, director of Open Space and Trails, has submitted a reasonable alternative to the Wexner group and it was rejected. There is no need for the county to negotiate at this time.
Just say no. Please do not trade a mountain for a hill.
