Since everyone had such a good time and I still had so many photos, I decided to do another column with the 34th Annual Shitkickers Ball at the Hotel Jerome.

December 2009 issues of national magazines are featuring stories about Aspenites.

Aspen writer Diane Tegmeyer penned a story about Christmas in Santa Fe featuring former Aspenites Charles Dale, his wife, Aimee, and their children Lili and Lucien. Charles, who had his own restaurants in Aspen for many years, is now the chef at the new Encantado Resort in Tesuque, right outside Santa Fe. Diane writes “chile wreaths, parades by candlelight, enchiladas two ways: the holiday season in New Mexico's capital is unlike anywhere else.”

The December issue of Architectural Digest magazine includes a story about Leonard Lauder and his poster collection. He and his wife, Evelyn Lauder, recently took an apartment in a landmark New York City brownstone with space for a research library so he and his curators can research, catalogue, document and create exhibitions with his posters and postcards and photographs by Evelyn. The Lauders have a second home out by the Aspen Music Festival tent.

Undercurrent … Slanting and pale is the November sun.
