The Snowmass and Aspen Recreation departments offer organized various activities, including rock climbing, swimming and league athletics.
Climbing is offered at two different locations Aspens largest indoor climbing facility at the Red Brick Recreation Department, 110 East Hallam St. (970) 920-5140 and at the climbing tower at the Aspen Recreation Center. The Red Brick Climbing Wall is designed for all abilities and ages. With 3,100 square feet of climbing surface, climbers can improve their skills on top rope routes, lead routes and a large bouldering area.
The Aspen Recreation Center climbing tower is three-dimensional and located at the Aspen Recreation Center, on Maroon Creek Road, (970) 544-4100. Its filled with over 25 routes and has four auto belays. The Aspen Recreation Center, better known as the ARC, also offers public swimming in two pools a leisure pool complete with a slide and lazy river, plus a 25-yard lap pool along with a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. The center also features the Lewis Ice Arena and fitness machines and weights.
The Snowmass Village Recreation Center offers a full fitness area and outdoor pools. A wading pool offers an easy swim experience for the children. The leisure pool features include a 120-foot water slide, a bubble rock, downspout, waterspouts and tumble buckets. The lap pool has two separate lanes and is 25 feet long.
