ASPEN — Stripped of inhibition and, in some cases, quite a bit more, about a half-dozen Aspen Gay Ski Week attendees hit the slopes of lower Little Nell on Aspen Mountain Friday for the ever-popular annual costume contest.
Emcee Sister Helen Holy once again presided over the frivolity with her usual irreverence, and personally awarded first prize to winner Scott Graham of Los Angeles, stuffing five $100 bills in the towel wrapped around his waist. Graham was clad in little else except the curtain surrounding his makeshift shower stall.
He called his entry “Good Clean Fun.”
Contestants took turns skiing or snowboarding down the lower Little Nell run in get-ups that either bared nearly all or, in a couple of cases, barely constituted costumes at all.
“You really went all out, didn’t you,” the good sister chided a pair of skiers who simply added rainbow boas to their skiwear. “This clearly belongs to the school of, ‘well, if you’re pretty, who cares what you’re wearing.’”
It was the skimpy outfits, though, that scored well with the local slate of judges.
Marko Tomassetti of New York City descended the slope clad in a pink negligee, briefs and body hair, calling himself Vagina Chic.
“You’re gonna win something and I pray it’s sponsored by Lady Schick,” Helen Holy quipped.

“If I can get half-naked and people clap, why not?” he said.
Taking home the second-place prize, a mountain bike, was Dave F. of Philadelphia, who called himself G Force Dave. A member of the G Force hockey team playing in the gay vs. straight hockey championship Saturday night, Dave wore his hockey jersey and jock strap, and carried his stick.

Aspen Gay Ski Week wraps up with its final events on Saturday and Sunday.
Attendance feels to be about the same as usual — about 3,000 — said Todd Heimel, chairman of the board for the Aspen Gay and Lesbian Community Fund, which hosts the event.
