ASPEN The evacuation order that affected a 16-block area of downtown Aspen has been lifted, the Aspen Police Department announced at about 5 a.m. Thursday.
Protected crime scenes remain in the downtown area and police are asking citizens not to cross any police barricades or crime-scene tape.
The department will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Pitkin County Library.
Barring a significant event, no new information will be available before then, the department announced in an e-mail.
