Bray and Co. will close Glenwood real estate office

GLENWOOD SPRINGS — A changing regional housing market will spell the closure of the Bray and Co. real estate office in Glenwood Springs, according to Robert Bray, CEO and president.

“We looked at the current market, and what we expect the market to be, and came to the conclusion that we should consolidate through the Rifle office,” Bray said. “It would be more efficient from that base to better serve our customer base.”

The Grand Junction-based company, founded in 1946, currently has offices in Rifle, Cedaredge, Delta, Montrose, Fruita, Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs — all in western Colorado.

The Glenwood office, in existence for 15 years, is expected to close by Dec. 1, Bray said.

According to its website, the Glenwood office, located on Grand Avenue next to the Roaring Fork School District offices, employs 13 broker associates for commercial and residential real estate, and includes a property management division.

Bray said the property management division will instead be based in Rifle; Glenwood office managing broker Ken Wiencek will oversee that operation.

Bray said “a couple” of Glenwood-based brokers will remain with the company in Rifle, but that not all of the employees will make the transition.

According to Bray, the Rifle office has had a “good year” despite a real estate slowdown affecting the region. He gave no reason for closing the Glenwood Springs office other than consolidation to better serve customers.

“The Rifle office has been up over the same time last year,” Bray said. “Business is good.”
