Driving under the influence and drug possession — 2:20 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 13

ASPEN — Aspen officer Adam Loudon stopped the driver of a vehicle in the 600 block of East Durant Avenue, alleging the motorist, Ian McMahon Meloy, was driving without headlights on.

Loudon noticed the odor of alcohol and asked Meloy, 27, if he would be willing to take some field sobriety tests. Meloy, an Aspen resident, declined and was arrested, according to a police narrative. Loudon placed Meloy under arrest for driving under the influence.

Loudon performed a search of Meloy and found a yellow bindle in his pocket, the report says. A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Meloy was taken to the Pitkin County jail and booked for driving under the influence; failing to display lamps when required; and driving with excessive alcohol content.

He was also booked for unlawful distribution, manufacturing, dispense or sale of cocaine; possession of drug paraphernalia; and marijuana possession of 1 ounce or less.

Driving under the influence and speeding — 2:11 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 16

ASPEN — Aspen officer Kirk Wheatley stopped motorist Daniel Eric Collins, 23, whom he said was speeding while traveling westbound on Main Street at Fourth Street.

Radar indicated Collins, an Aspen resident, was allegedly traveling 34 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Wheatley detected an odor of alcohol, and asked Collins to perform a field sobriety test. Collins refused and was arrested, police said.

He was taken to the Pitkin County jail and booked for driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol; driving with excessive alcohol content; and speeding.
