ASPEN The Winter X Games returns to Buttermilk on Jan. 22 for an eighth consecutive year, but this time with a new look.
The 13th edition of Winter X in Aspen, which is slated to be held in Aspen through 2010, will feature two new events womens skiing slopestyle and snowmobile best trick.
The slopestyle will feature the top eight skiers in the world competing on a variety of rails and jumps. Each skier will take two runs, and their best run will determine their final ranking.
Snowmboile best trick will feature three athletes who will each take two runs. Fans in Aspen and those watching on ESPN will vote for the winner.
The X Games has always been about progression and creativity, and with the addition of these two new events, we continue that tradition, said Rick Alessandri, senior vice president of the X Games franchise, in a news release.
