White, Bleiler, others top Winter Dew Tour lineup

NEW YORK — Snowboarders Shaun White, Hannah Teter, Andreas Wiig, Travis Rice and Aspen's Gretchen Bleiler and freeskiing stars Tanner Hall, Sarah Burke and Simon Dumont will compete on the Winter Dew Tour.

The three-event series will open Dec. 18-21 at Breckenridge in Colorado, move to Mount Snow in Vermont on Jan. 8-11 and close at Lake Tahoe in California on Feb. 19-22.

"I'm thrilled for the start of the Winter Dew Tour this December," Dumont said. "This is just what we need to give skiing the exposure it deserves. We'll have live TV coverage and the resorts chosen are some of the best in the world."

White, who competed in skateboard vert on the Summer Dew Tour, will be the first Summer crossover athlete. The 2007 skateboard vert Dew Cup champion will compete in the superpipe on the Winter Dew Tour.

NBC, MTV, MTV2 and USA will broadcast 28 hours of original programming.

"I feel like the Dew Tour is going be huge and I'm really looking forward to riding on the entire series this year," Teter said. "The roster of athletes that will be competing on the Winter Dew Tour is sick. It'll be a fun battle to see who comes away with Dew Cup at the end of the season."
