Aspen just gets better

I feel so blessed to be able to say that this was the sixth summer Eric and I spent in Aspen together. We did the usual things, the Aspen Institute and the Aspen Music Festival, a little hiking and a lot of golf, and the gym daily whenever possible … especially after a big meal the night before or a night that ended at Paradise still being open! A routine trip on the gondola is a must for entertaining visitors who have not been here or up there before.

I was not upset that lacking from the scenery outside my window at the Alps this year was Jane and Michael or any signs of bears.

But most of all I want to thank Walter Isaacson and the Aspen Institute for having a more neutral venue this year. Last year I loved meeting with and hearing Sen. John Warner, and this year it was wonderful to hear Sen. John McCain. The Aspen Institute is part of what makes Aspen so wonderful and unique. It was great to hear Republicans also speak this year.
