First-degree criminal trespass — 6:45 p.m., Monday, July 14
SNOWMASS — Pitkin County Sheriff’s officials allege that a Carbondale man, Henry Ayala, 21, took a radiator hose from a Volvo parked at Midstate Motors in Old Snowmass.

Ayala was found under the hood putting the hose into a green Infiniti sedan, according to the deputy’s report, and was charged with first degree criminal trespass.

Driving under the influence, driving with excessive alcohol content, and driving while license under constraint — 10:24 p.m., July 10
Responding to a report of a reckless driver on Brush Creek Road, deputies found a black Volvo matching the description parked at the Intercept Lot.

The driver, later identified as Luis Raul Garcia, 26, of Aspen, stepped out of his car and approached the peace officers.

But when they smelled alcohol on Garcia’s breath, deputies asked Garcia to perform a roadside sobriety test; he allegedly failed the exam.

Garcia was arrested for drunken driving and taken to the Pitkin County jail. Deputies later learned that Garcia had a revoked license out of New York.

Speeding, driving under restraint, and driving while revoked as a habitual traffic offender — 6:38 p.m., Saturday, July 12
Police stopped James Edward Hummer, 44, of Aspen, on Maroon Creek Road, where they allege he was driving 46 mph in a 30 mph zone. Hummer told officers he did not have a license and that it has been revoked for years, according to the report. Hummer was placed under arrest and taken to jail.

Weaving and driving under the influence — 10:20 p.m., Saturday, July 12
Responding to a report of a suspected drunken driver on a motorcycle near the roundabout, Aspen officers followed a biker they said was wobbling from side to side through the S-curves at the Entrance to Aspen.

The rider, later identified as Robert Carrillo, 51, of Aspen, claimed he’d had “a couple of beers,” but failed a roadside sobriety test, according to the police report.

Officers charged Carrillo with driving under the influence and took him to jail.

Minor in possession — 12:28 a.m., Sunday, July 13
Responding to a call from Belly Up Aspen, officers arrested Chelsea Mae Scrivens, 18, of Glenwood Springs, for underage drinking. According to the police report, Scrivens said she’d had a rum and coke at the bar, which cost her a trip to jail.

Aspen officers arrested Trevan Coughlin Flynn for drunken driving after a traffic stop for a broken headlight. The 18-year-old Aspenite was taken to the Pitkin County jail.

BASALT — Strains between roommates boiled over at the Pan and Fork Mobile Home Park on July 12, resulting in a melee, according to Basalt police.

Three men were charged with third-degree assault, a first-degree misdemeanor, for fighting, Sgt. Stewart Curry said. One of the men returned home to trailer No. 2 in the park to find the door locked. After it was unlocked, he slammed a roommate with the door, and a fight broke out, Curry said.

Another roommate emerged from a bedroom and joined the scrum. A fourth roommate, who was trying to talk on the telephone, asked for peace and quiet, and received the opposite: a punch in the mouth that might have broken the jaw, Curry said.

Everyone but the telephone talker was charged. They were Felix Vazquez-Toledo, Carlos Florian Monzon and Milton Ramos Monzon, according to the police report. All the men are in their early 20s, Curry said.
