ASPEN The Wheeler Film Series will present four films in June.
The month of movies opens Sunday and Monday, June 1-2, with Flight of the Red Balloon at Aspen's Wheeler Opera House. The French fantasy, by Chinese director Hsiao-hsien Hu and starring Juliette Binoche, is a remake of the 1956 Academy Award-winning short, The Red Balloon.
The French comedy Priceless, starring Audrey Tautou as a gold-digger who mistakenly becomes involved with a bartender, is set for Tuesday and Wednesday, June 3-4.
Smart People, a comic romance starring Dennis Quaid as a widowed professor, shows Thursday and Friday, June 5-6, and the calendar closes Saturday and Sunday, June 7-8, with Blade Runner: The Final Cut, a recent, updated version of Ridley Scotts 1982 science fiction classic.
All films show at 7:30 p.m., along with 4:30 p.m. matinees for films scheduled for Saturday and Sunday screenings.
