Drivers in fatal wrong-way I-70 wreck were sober, coroner concludes

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Alcohol and drugs were not factors in last week's wrong-way wreck on Interstate 70 in Grand Junction that killed two women and injured an infant, according to the Mesa County Coroner's Office.

Jenny Trover, 26, of Fruita, and Kathryn Disparti, 48, of Napa, Calif., tested negative for drugs and alcohol, the coroner's office said in a news release issued Wednesday. Both women died as a result of the May 12 crash, which remains under investigation by the Grand Junction Police Department.

Trover was driving east on I-70 when her vehicle collided head-on with a minivan driven by Disparti, who entered the interstate in the wrong direction via an exit ramp and was headed west in eastbound traffic, according to authorities.
