GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — One person is dead and several others are injured after their sport utility vehicle rolled several times on westbound Interstate 70 near De Beque.
Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Matthew Beaudin said the crash occurred in a "high accident" area of I-70 at about 8 p.m. Wednesday.
At least five people were hurt and two ejected as the SUV flipped into a grassy area and landed on its roof.
The names and conditions of those injured have not been released.
Beaudin said it appears the driver simply lost control.
Alcohol and excessive speed are being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
