ASPEN Aspen's surging swim team improved its league record to 9-2 on Friday in Delta with a convincing win over Moffat County and the host Panthers.
Led by Hana Maclean, who set a new school record in the 100-yard breast stroke, the Skiers won with 246 team points. Moffat County was second (188), followed by Delta (156).
Maclean finished her 100-yard heat in 1 minute, 19.50 seconds, eclipsing her previous best mark.
The Skiers' other first-place finishers were:
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Janie Gosney, Steffi Klawiter, Ali Leydecker and Keaton Doyle, who finished in 4:44.86.
Chelsey Hanle in the diving competition winning with a score of 176.60.
Ali Kerr in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in 27.62.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Kaitlin Gerson, Maclean, ME Purnell and Kerr, who set a new school record with a time of 1:53.48.
Maclean also took third in the 200-yard freestyle. Rachel Sher was fifth in the same race and Hannah Gardenswartz finished seventh.
Kaitlin Gerson had a personal best in the 200 individual medley with a second-place time of 2:34.50.
In the 200 IM, Klawiter took fourth and Jaeda Sichel was seventh.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Megan Karaus finished third, Annie Buettow was fifth and Janie Gosney was eighth.
Allie Garret was fourth behind Hanle in the diving competition.
In the 100-yard fly, Kerr was second and teammate Keely Roberts was third.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Gerson finished second, Leydecker was third and Klawiter was fourth.
Doyle took the bronze and Gardenswartz was fourth in the longest race of the day, the 500-yard Freestyle. In the 100-yard backstroke, Karaus finished second, Roberts was third and Shannon Pierce was fourth.
Buettow followed Maclean's winning time in the 100-yard breast stroke, finishing second. Hayley Ross also had a personal best of her own in the event, taking eighth.
Next up for the Skiers is Saturday's league championship meet at 9 a.m. in Montrose.
