ASPEN — During Aspen’s string of recent powder days, local disabled ski racers with the Challenge Aspen competition team took a day to freeski on Aspen Mountain.

Coach Kevin Jardine said tackling challenging terrain such as powder, bumps and steeps gives racers a chance to build strength and hone skills.
