GLENWOOD SPRINGS — The Colorado Department of Transportation closed the paved bike path through Glenwood Canyon on Thursday, two days earlier than last year’s closure.
The path will be closed from Glenwood Springs, at mile marker 116.8, to mile marker 131 on the east end of Glenwood Canyon until next spring.
CDOT closes the path each winter, when winter maintenance activities on Interstate 70 above the path can create unsafe conditions for path users. The path typically opens in April each year, weather permitting.
