Vote for your lifestyle

Print Comment
Dear Editor:

I am a real estate agent supporting Mick Ireland for mayor. I believe the community will be in better hands if Mick is elected. And after all, isn't that what this election is all about?

Those asking themselves the question, "What's in it for me?" have missed the point. What is in it for everyone with Mick's selection is a local's lifestyle that most of us are here for and a community representing prominently the values of its full-time residents.

If I had voted in the last two national elections by asking, "What's in it for me?" I would have supported George Bush and his lower taxes for the most wealthy. In so doing, I would have discounted the many values I cherished and issues I support to save a few bucks. No thank you.

Not many towns have the opportunity to factor in lifestyle to the extent we do when weighing the pros and cons of why one lives where they do or votes the way they choose. It is a most precious gift. Let's not squander it.

Phil Miller
