TV host Cavett hosting Ford

Print Comment
Longtime talk-show host Dick Cavett will conduct an onstage interview with movie star Harrison Ford at Aspen Filmfest 2006 later this month. Filmfest will present Ford, the star of three "Star Wars" films and three "Indiana Jones" movies, with its Independent by Nature Award on Sept. 30 at the Wheeler Opera House. The event, which includes the interview and a reel of clips from Ford's films, will be followed by a dinner at The Little Nell to benefit Aspen Filmfest.

Also, tickets go on sale to the public today for all Filmfest 2006 screenings. Highlights of the festival include the U.S. premiere of "Shut Up and Sing," a documentary about the political stance of the country group the Dixie Chicks; "The U.S. vs. John Lennon," about the antiwar activism of the late Beatle; "Driving Lessons," a comedic drama starring Julie Walters, Laura Linney and Rupert Grint; and the closing film, British director Stephen Frears' "The Queen," which is scheduled to open the New York Film Festival two days prior to its screening here.

Filmfest 2006 runs Sept. 26 through Oct. 1, with events in Aspen, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs. Tickets for all shows are available at the Wheeler box office; tickets for Carbondale and Glenwood screenings are available at Sounds Easy in Carbondale and the Book Train in Glenwood.
