"Tracy's Day: A Celebration of Life Through Music" takes place today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the grounds of the Aspen Community School in Woody Creek.

The event is a fundraiser for the daughters of local musician and horsewoman Tracy McLain, who died in a car accident last year. McLain, daughter of Doug and Arlyce McLain, lived in the Roaring Fork Valley her entire life. She was 45.

In addition to a full day of music featuring dozens of local and one-time local musicians, there will be food from Back Door Catering and the Woody Creek Tavern, margaritas and Flying Dog beer, children's activities, a live auction, raffle prizes, CDs and T-shirts.

Music will be provided by Dan Forde & High Country, Jan Garrett & JD Martin, Jimmy Ibbotson, K.C. Johnson and Tracy's Guitar Students, Doug McLain, Network, the Roaring Fork Old Time/Celtic Megaband, Dan Sheridan, Smokin' Joe & the Gypsies, Starwood Reunion (with Haden Gregg, Steve Ivey, Bobby Mason, Bernie Mysior, Bryan Savage and more), Wayne Stewart & Friends, Take the Wheel, Danny Wheetman, and surprise guests.

The master of ceremonies will be Pastor Mustard, and the auctioneer will be Twirp Anderson.

The auction will begin at 3:45 p.m. and will include: a Takamine guitar autographed by The Eagles, courtesy of Don Henley; a yearling quarter-horse stallion courtesy of McLain Quarter Horses; a seven-day stay for 10-14 at Casa Tortuga in Belize courtesy of Peggy Mason; a hand-carved wood piece by Woody Creek artist Michael Cleverly; a catered private dinner for 20 at the Woody Creek Store, with entertainment provided by Heart of the Rockies; Snowmass Creek Outfitters three-day pack trip; autographed and framed poster by Antonio Banderas; catered candlelight dinner for four to six courtesy of Fusion Catering.

The raffle includes items such as rounds of golf, hotel stays, dinners, gift certificates of all kinds, and much more.

The Aspen Community School is located at 1199 Woody Creek Road, which is the road to Lenado.

The money raised will go to the Tracy McLain Family Educational Fund, which will help finance the continuing education of Tracy's daughters, Kelley and Chelsea Scrivens. Donations can be made through any Alpine Bank to the Tracy McLain Family Educational Fund or mailed to 0016 Pinion Drive, Glenwood Springs, CO, 81601.
