Mayoral candidate sued over credit card expenses

Print Comment
A city councilman and candidate in next month’s mayoral election is being sued by a bank for allegedly not paying more than $5,400 in credit card expenses.

A lawsuit against Terry Paulson was filed Tuesday in county court by Cross Country Bank. Including interest and lawyer fees, he owes $5,402.60, the lawsuit says.

Paulson did not return a message, and the phone number for the bank’s lawyer was not answered yesterday.

This is not the first time the councilman has run into trouble with creditors. In September, two lenders foreclosed on his Vine Street condominium. Paulson was allegedly not making his monthly mortgage payments. He managed to fend off the foreclosure and began making monthly payments again.
